Feel like you are starting to get sick? Worried it might be the H1N1 flu virus? Try these methods of early prevention. They might just save your life:

1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official
communications).
       
2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of face (unless you want to eat, bathe or slap).

Kids who have working moms less healthy, study says

According to a study from Great Britain, kids with stay-at-home moms are healthier. Moms who work, according to the study published in the Baltimore Sun, are more likely to drink sugary drinks, walk to school less often and stay on the computer or television for longer hours.

Fruit Roll-ups in the Parking Lot

Remember when we posted about baking cookies in your car? Here's something else you can try on your dashboard - dried fruit (who knew they were going to be such handy easy-bake ovens?).

How to Make Dried Fruit in Your Car:

1. Just take any fruit, clean it and slice it up first
2. Take a box or tray and place the fruit slices flat so it can dry properly
3. Leave on the dashboard of your car for a day or two until the fruit fully dries.

Homeless Hummingbird

We found a poor little broken hummingbird outside Hip at Home headquarters. The Hip Homemaker did a little research to figure out how to feed it. Apparently it's just 1 part sugar and 4 parts water mixed. The little guy still hasn't really moved, but has fed from our mixture.
